AMERICAN RED CROSS WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI) COURSE-WINTER 2023
Come learn how to teach kids to be safe around water and swim safely. This course with the American Red Cross is on Thursdays and Sundays.
DATES & TIMES:
THURSDAYS: 2/2, 2/9 & 2/16 from 7:00pm-9:00pm
SUNDAYS: 2/5 & 2/19 from 11:00 am-4:00 pm
COST:
$450 YMCA members
$480 Non-Members
**Participants are required to download class materials before the first class.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must complete the online portion of the class.
- Must be able to perform the following skills at a level 4 standard:
- 25 yards: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke & sidestroke
- 15 yards: Butterfly, Tread water for 1 minute, float or scull on the back for 1 minute
CERTIFICATION
Upon successful completion of all course materials and practical skills, participants will receive a 2-year certification as a Water Safety Instructor.
