Holiday Grieving Discussion at the YMCA
January 11 | February 8 | March 8
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The holidays can bring joy—but they can also deepen feelings of loss. The YMCA invites community members to a three-part Holiday Grieving Discussion series designed to offer understanding, connection, and support for anyone navigating grief.
Grief is not limited to the loss of a loved one. It can stem from changes in health, identity, relationships, safety, plans, or the life you expected to live. When grief goes unnamed, it can quietly shape how we feel and function. When it’s understood, healing can begin.
- January 11 – Grief Is Any Change You Didn’t Choose
Explore grief beyond death and the secondary losses that often follow, including changes in confidence, belonging, energy, and direction. - February 8 – When Grief Lives in the Body
Learn how grief impacts the nervous system and why symptoms like fatigue, anxiety, and brain fog are physical responses—not personal failures. - March 8 – Who You Are After Everything Changes
A conversation focused on identity after loss, and how to allow something new to emerge without pressure or forcing change.
These supportive discussions offer a compassionate space to reflect, learn, and regain footing—together.
