HUNTINGTON YMCA SUMMER DAY CAMP

Our Huntington YMCA ends session 4 with amazing activities! The highlight for some of our campers was the color run or the Grit Ninja Course!

Campers and counselors loved our Annual Color Run!!!  The campers wore their white shirts and loved running through the powder with their camp friends. One camper said she looked like a rainbow!

Our campers enjoyed making a page in Art for all of their fellow campers and counselors to sign so that they can remember all the fun they had this summer!! They also had a special guest visit to sign some of their signs!

All of our campers enjoyed a Grit Ninja course. This involved monkey bars, an obstacle course, and a climbing wall. They were able to practice their agility, strength, speed, and endurance, as well as patience! All the campers really enjoyed this course and left with big smiles on their faces!

Kids also loved Sports Day where they enjoyed soccer, Gaga and more!

GREAT SOUTH BAY YMCA SUMMER DAY CAMP

Our Great South Bay YMCA Summer Day Camp ended session 4 with so many fun activities including their Color Run!

Campers also had a basketball tournament against their camp counselors and had another volleyball camper versus counselor tournament.

Our Kiddie camper loved having a picnic on the green with all of their camp friends. The kids loved the ice pops.

At STEM, campers made "fireworks in a bottle."  Friends had fun swimming together in the pool and playing volleyball against the counselors!

They also had an amazing theme day, Twin Day. The Campers dressed up as their favorite camp bestie or camp counselor for twin day!

Teen Camp's second trip of the week was to Farmingdale Gymnastics where they swung on the trapeze, climbed the cargo net, walked the balance beams, and more!

Our friends at Think Wellness NY stopped by and did some activities with the campers. The Campers made soil and sprinkled it all around the campus. Our Kiddie campers also made pretty mandalas.

PATCHOGUE FAMILY YMCA SUMMER DAY CAMP

Our Patchogue Family YMCA campers had a jam-packed week to end the session with a bang! This week, we held our Olympic games, our teen campers went on a trip to visit the Glen Cove Branch and our camp staff participated in the early 90’s tv show style Fear Factor.

Let the Olympic Games Begin! The passing of the torch to begin the "2022 Summer Camp Olympics Games!" Olympics games at camp! Campers and counselors participated in different relay races to see which country could complete in the quickest time. The Campers had a blast playing other sports activities.

Our Teen campers went to our Glen Cove branch for a fun field trip. The Teens enjoyed the ropes course, playing ice hockey in the rink and cooling off in the pool. They had so much fun doing a jumping contest in the pool or who could do the best canon ball.

The Kiddie campers had Jump Bunch Activity and came to do some fun sports activities. The kids got to have fun learning how to play volleyball with big colorful blow-up beach balls!

Campers had a blast tying and dying white shirts this week at camp! Kids had fun making their t-shirts rubber-band bunches and putting colored dye. Once the kids were done adding the dye too, they put them in zip lock bags and took them home! The next day, campers had to rinse their shirts in water and throw them in the washing machine and it revealed a surprising colored design. We loved seeing everyone's finished projects!

Our Kiddie campers had a special visit from Girl Scouts. They taught our young campers yoga and the importance of finding inner peace and how it is important to stretch, be strong, and how clear your head.

Finally, Fear Factor came to camp! Counselors and CITs faced their fears while performing "chilling" challenges for our campers! It was so much fun seeing the counselors and the CITs compete and try new things while facing their fears. After doing the challenges, the winners were crowned, congrats to Mr. Chris and Mr. Jacob on winning!

YMCA EAST HAMPTON RECENTER SUMMER DAY CAMP

Our East Hampton Campers ended their session 4 with a smash! Think Wellness visited for a final activity and craft with our campers. Campers also enjoyed playing the Game Show where they tested their knowledge with brain teasers and fun games and activities with their camp friends. Some activities that they got to compete in were a hula hoop contest, dance off and trivia.

All of the campers (Kiddie, Youth, Pre-teen/ Teen) loved the Color Run. They enjoyed running through the colored powder puffs and coming out looking like pieces of art. Some of the other fun art and crafts that happened during the week are face painting and making flowers out of tissue paper and pipe cleaners.

The Kiddie campers played outside on the playground with their camp friends and rode tricycles. All campers loved learning how to play Bingo and competing with their camp friends to get Bingo first.

The kids learned the importance of soil, what it is used for and how it helps the flowers. Once the kids learned about soil, they got to scatter it around the camp campus. Special thanks to Think Wellness NY for visiting to show us this activity!

YMCA AT GLEN COVE

Our Glen Cove Summer Day campers learned the importance of healthy eating and exercise for fitness day this week! Kids had a blast learning different ways to get their heart rate up! Kids participated in races, jumping jacks, and other fun fitness-related activities.

Our campers loved to bring your favorite Book Day! Campers loved seeing what their friends' favorite books were. They read little snippets from their books and talked about their favorite character and their favorite parts. We even saw some of our favorite books or some classics that we read as a kid, including Magic Tree House, Harry Potter, and the Chronicles of Narnia. Some of our campers brought national geographic books on animals or traveling. We loved seeing everyone's favorite books and learning more about them.

Campers also enjoyed other camp traditional activities like high ropes, Recreational swimming/ water fun, baseball, playground time and more!
