Nothing like some friendly competition at summer camp! We love teaching and playing different sports with our campers. Learning to play on teams helps provide transferable skills related to trust, working together, and problem-solving as well as leadership, respect, and patience.

We get it, camp can be fun and competitive, but that doesn't stop you from showing people your actions. At the YMCA of Long Islands Summer Camp, we have zero tolerance for negative, inappropriate content and actions. We encourage others to follow by example and bring a positive and caring attitude each day with them to camp. To view Camp expectations & camp materials take a peek at our camp page

If someone is having a bad day or sees others that are not doing their best, we encourage you to ask them what is wrong, and see how you can make their day; if it's something super important get help! We at summer camp work as a team and strive for every camper to have the ability to ask for help or go to an adult if there is a problem. We are here to help develop confident and caring individuals!
