Huntington YMCA Bluefish take 1st place at NYS YMCA Swimming States 2nd year in a row

Huntington YMCA Bluefish Swim Team Clinches Back-to-Back State Championship Title
at New York State YMCA Swimming Competition
Huntington, NY – March 27, 2025 – The Huntington YMCA Bluefish Swim Team has once again made waves, securing the State Championship title for the second consecutive year at the New York State YMCA Swimming Competition.
Competing against 28 YMCA swim teams across the state and a total of 915 swimmers, the Bluefish demonstrated outstanding performances across various events, showcasing their skill, determination, and team spirit. Led by a dedicated coaching staff, the swimmers exhibited exceptional discipline and sportsmanship, further solidifying their reputation as a powerhouse in the swimming community.
The team secured the state champ title by only 18.5 points followed by the YMCA East Hampton RECenter Hurricanes who came in 2nd place.
“We are incredibly proud of our athletes for their hard work and perseverance,” said Ed Ryan, Head Coach of the Huntington YMCA Bluefish.
“Winning the state title for the second year in a row is a testament to the dedication of our swimmers, the support of their families, and the strength of our training program.” said, Nicole Dinolfo, Executive Director, Huntington YMCA.
Huntington YMCA Blueflish’s 15-18 Boys placed 1st in their age group and both13-14 and 15-18 Girls placed 1st in their age groups.

Mateo Rodriguez Villa (50 Breast)
13-14 Girls Medley Relay (Lauren Reed, Mia Qiu, Lily Reilly, Charlotte Karpoich)
13-14 Boys Medley Relay (Frenklin Vojka, Milo Marrero, Owen MGaw, Max Sokolowski)
15-19 Boys Medley Relay (Sam Klaaren, Adam Jacuch, Patrick O'Brien, Jason Wang)
15-19 Boys 400 Free Relay (Parker Eisner, Sam Klaaren, Adam Jacuch, Jason Wang)
This victory highlights the YMCA of Long Island’s commitment to fostering youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility through sports. The Huntington YMCA Bluefish program continues to inspire young athletes, promoting confidence, teamwork, and personal growth both in and out of the pool.
