The Huntington YMCA Bluefish Swim Team had once again made a splash in the world of competitive swimming, earning the New York State YMCA Swimming Championship title for the second year in a row this year. In recognition of this remarkable achievement, the tseam was presented with an official proclamation signed by the speaker of New York State Assembly, Carl Hasting, and presented by New York State Assemblyman Steve Stern.

The Huntington YMCA Bluefish stood out among fierce competition, facing off against 28 YMCA teams and over 900 swimmers from across the state back in April. Their hard work, discipline, and unmatched team spirit were on full display as they dominated events across all age levels. Led by an exceptional coaching staff, the Bluefish demonstrated not only superior athletic performance but also the core values of the YMCA—caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

“The Y took a chance on my community, and I will forever remember that, the Y always holds a special place in my heart.” said Assemblyman Stern.

The Huntington YMCA is proud to support youth development through competitive sports and is honored to celebrate the accomplishments of the Bluefish Swim Team. Their continued success serves as an inspiration to young athletes throughout the region.
