Since 2010, families from Patchogue and surrounding neighborhoods have turned to the Patchogue Family YMCA for support. At the Y, kids are cared for and encouraged to grow, healthy living is embraced, and being a trusted community resource is at the heart of everything we do. We work every day to offer programs, services, and real solutions that meet the most pressing needs of our children and families.
Today, the YMCA is a source of strength and belonging for more than 5,600 people in our community. From child care to camp, chronic disease prevention to drowning prevention, family time to time with friends, the Y is the place where our community comes together.

every child, family, and neighbor has a place to thrive, we must expand and reimagine our facility.

The Y is addressing real challenges such as:
Cost
Right now, 31.5% of Long Island households cannot afford the basic cost of living, placing daily strain on working families
Child Care
Affordable, high-quality child care is scarce, making it harder for parents to work and keep their families stable.
Screen Time
Meanwhile, children ages 8-12 spend 4-6 hours a day on screens, and teens spend up to 9 hours, contributing to physical inactivity, isolation, and long-term health risks.
Social Isolation
Social isolation is worsening across generations, with youth, seniors, and people with disabilities hit hardest. These trends have profound effects on both mental and physical health.
Obesity
And with 2 out of 3 adults in New York obese or overweight, the threat of chronic disease continues to rise.

Expand access to affordable high-quality early learning, giving children the foundation to thrive – and parents the peace of mind while they are at work.

We're excited to begin the next phase of the Patchogue Reimagined Campaign: the construction of three new early childhood classrooms. This expansion will allow us to serve more children and families while creating modern, engaging learning spaces for years to come.
Yes. Summer Camp will continue as scheduled, including swimming, special events, and daily activities.
No. Early Childhood programs will continue as scheduled. We have carefully planned the construction process to minimize any impact on children's daily routines.
Construction is taking place at the rear of our current classroom building and will be separated from all camp and program areas.
To help minimize disruptions, the majority of construction work will take place during evening and overnight hours. While there may be occasional daytime activity, every effort is being made to reduce noise during program hours.
Yes. The safety of our campers, children, families, and staff is our top priority. Construction areas will be fully secured and separated from all program spaces. Our team is working closely with the construction professionals to ensure a safe environment throughout the project.
At this time, families should follow the normal drop-off and pick-up procedures. If temporary traffic patterns, parking, or entrances need to change during construction, we will communicate those updates well in advance.
Parking will remain available. If temporary adjustments are needed during specific phases of construction, we will notify families in advance and provide clear signage.
Construction is expected to continue over the coming months. We look forward to sharing progress updates and celebrating the opening of the new classrooms once construction is complete.
