YMCA Swim Teams Take on the NYS States

The YMCA of Long Island is proud to recognize the incredible performances of our swim teams at the YMCA New York State Swimming Championships!
Swimmers from the Huntington YMCA Bluefish, East Hampton RECenter Hurricanes, and Patchogue Family YMCA Piranhas competed with determination, sportsmanship, and team pride against top talent from across the state.
The East Hampton RECenter Hurricanes delivered a standout performance, earning a 1st place overall team finish and achieving remarkable milestones, including:
- 76 athletes competing at the state level
- 12 new team records set
- Multiple individual records broken
- 11 swimmers advancing to nationals
- 4 swimmers committing to continue their careers at the collegiate level
The Huntington YMCA Bluefish also had an outstanding meet, securing an impressive 2nd place team finish, further showcasing the strength of YMCA of Long Island’s competitive swim programs.
Across all teams, our athletes demonstrated the hard work, resilience, and teamwork that define the YMCA spirit.
As several of our swimmers prepare to compete at nationals, we look forward to cheering them on as they continue to make waves and represent our community at the next level.

These dedicated swimmers have trained hard all season long, building strength, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship every step of the way. Now, they’re ready to represent their Ys on the state stage and make waves against the best of the best.
