With so many demands on today’s families, parents need all the support they can get. That’s why child care at the Y is about more than looking after kids. It’s about nurturing their development by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
At the Y, we offer the options you may be looking for in our Early Childhood Development Programs, Preschool, and Afterschool programs. With locations throughout the Long Island community, our programs have a history of helping children grow in spirit, mind and body.
At the YMCA of Long Island, Early Childhood/Preschool Programs are committed to providing a safe, supportive living and learning environment for young children to learn, grow and develop social skills. Teachers create a warm and loving atmosphere while offering a developmentally-based, engaging curriculum, where children can play, discover and learn.
Half Day and Extended Day Programs available.
AFTERSCHOOL CHILD CARE
Our School Age Child Care Program provides a stimulating and safe environment for your child while you work. Staffed by caring and nurturing YMCA professionals, our program offers a variety of exciting activities including games, gym activities, outdoor activities (weather permitting) and arts and crafts. We also offer help with homework, encourage creativity, provide lots of opportunities for fun and laughter and a place where your child (K-6) can thrive.
