POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the School Age Child Care (SACC) & Camp Director will be directly responsible for program implementation and quality of all school aged programs, on/off-site, any Vacation Care programs and school age. The SACC Program Director will represent the YMCA of Long Island in a positive, professional manner, resulting in friendly, convenient and courteous service. During the summer, the position will assume Co-Director responsibilities, including jointly overseeing the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, supervising and performance evaluation of staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Maintain Before/After School program for children in grades K-6. Additional private school sites where necessary.

· Recruit, hire, supervise, train and evaluate all Sites staff, including Site directors, specialists and child care workers during the school year and cooperatively with Co-Director during the summer.

· Will work as a Co-Camp Director with the on-site Summer Day Camp Program. Responsibilities include supervision, administration, scheduling, registration, training, etc.

· Coordinate program with school calendars and activities and coordinate publicity for program. Create friendly working relationship with school district, personnel and building principal and staff. Promote a positive image for programs in the community.

· Implement operational procedures in keeping with policies and requirements for licensing by relevant New York State agencies. Handle all licensing responsibilities for all off-site locations.

· Develop, plan and implement all phases of School-Age curriculum.

· Oversee all registration for programs including Parent Orientation, Open Houses and Pre-Registrations.

· Maintain accurate records and prepare quarterly reports.

· Must operate program within budget guidelines as outlined by budget. Work with Senior Director of Youth Programs on budget preparation and outcomes.

· Conduct monthly meetings with the SACC Site Directors and attend staff meetings of sites you are working with.

· Responsible to communicate regularly with supervisor and inform of any changes.

· Complete payroll to ensure it is submitted with no errors in a timely manner.

· Develop policies and train staff on best practices; develop and train staff on accurate enrollment procedures, paperwork and files.

· Provide exceptional customer service to families.

· Properly maintain and care for supplies and equipment.

· Coordinate transportation of students with school district personnel.

· Participate in all YMCA Special Events, fundraisers and Annual Support Campaign.

· Responsible for weeknight and weekend Director on Duty (DOD) shifts, as needed.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Youth Programs.

· Maintain hygiene habits in accordance with CDC guidelines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

· Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent, preferred.

· Three or more years of supervision experience.

· Three or more years of experience working with youth.

· Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.

· CPR and First Aid certifications required.

SALARY RANGE:

Newly hired employees will be paid between $64,350.00 if annualized and $90,090.00 if annualized depending on level of qualifications.
