Week 8- The Last Week of Camp!

As the summer slowly comes to an end, we know that it is time to bid farewell to our beloved camp friends. These past few months have been filled with laughter, adventure, and unforgettable memories that we will cherish forever. The bonds we have formed are unbreakable, and the experiences we have shared have shaped us in profound ways.

Amidst our bittersweet emotions for the end of camp, our Great South Bay, Glen Cove, Patchogue, and Huntington Teens/Pre-Teens/Sports camps groups attended a Met's Game this week!

We are also excited to announce that registration for 2024 YMCA of Long Island Summer Day Camp opens at the end of the month with a special offer. Watch your inboxes for a special offer! Plus, registering early allows our camp families to pay for camp over 9 months. Don't miss out on this!

We wish all of our camp friends and family a happy and healthy school year! We hope to see you all again next summer!

Let's see what else our camps did this week!

Our Patchogue Campers had an incredible week filled with thrilling activities and memorable experiences. The week kicked off with an exhilarating game of Fear Factor, where our Campers and Counselors faced their fears and took on exciting challenges. The adrenaline was pumping as they conquered their fear of heights by climbing a towering rock wall, tested their bravery by navigating a high ropes course, and pushed themselves to the limit in a daring zip-lining adventure. It was a true test of courage and determination, and our campers emerged victorious, proud of their accomplishments. Brother and sister winners Ashley and Chris S. won! These counselors were once our campers!

One of the highlights of the week was Origami Day, where our Campers had the opportunity to learn about the art of paper folding and created some impressive animal shapes. From graceful swans to fierce dragons, each camper took pride in their creations, showcasing their newfound skills and creativity.

Our Huntington YMCA campers had a blast exploring the wonders of nature. They had the chance to get up close and personal with some fascinating creatures during the "Touch a Tank" activity. The campers eagerly gathered around as the counselors introduced them to a variety of marine animals, from gentle sea turtles to a slippery octopus and spiky sea urchins. It was a sensory experience like no other, allowing the campers to appreciate the incredible diversity of nature.

Our campers enjoyed sprinkler fun, playing GAGA, and creating colorful masterpieces with chalk.
