Week 6 Camp Blog: Wrapping Up Session 3 with Camp Clash!

Another incredible week of YMCA of Long Island Summer Day Camp is in the books as we wrapped up Session 3! This week was filled with adventure, creativity, exciting trips, theme days, and one of our favorite traditions—the 2nd Annual Camp Clash!

Camp Clash Returns!

This week, Glen Cove YMCA Summer Day Camp proudly hosted the 2nd Annual Camp Clash, a special event open exclusively to our teen campers from across the YMCA of Long Island.

Our YMCA Summer Day Camp teens came together for our 2026 Camp Clash, where campers went head-to-head in a day of friendly competition, teamwork, and camp spirit. Teen campers from Huntington YMCA, YMCA at Glen Cove, Great South Bay YMCA, and Patchogue Family YMCA took part in relay races, timed sports challenges, and eye-hand coordination events as they competed for the coveted Camp Clash Trophy.

Throughout the day, campers showed incredible determination, sportsmanship, and plenty of Y spirit while cheering one another on through every challenge. Congratulations to all of our teen campers for their outstanding effort and enthusiasm, and a special congratulations to Great South Bay YMCA Summer Day Camp for taking home the trophy for the second year in a row. We can't wait to see who takes home the trophy next summer.

Now, let’s take a look at what each of our YMCA Summer Day Camps was up to during the final week of Session 3!

Patchogue Family YMCA Summer Day Camp

Our Patchogue campers ended Session 3 on a high note with a week full of exciting theme days, in-house specials, and adventures.

Our Kiddie Campers enjoyed celebrating Future Self Day, rocking out at the Rock 101 Concert, showing off their superhero spirit on Super Hero Day, singing their hearts out during Karaoke Day, creating colorful shirts on Tie Dye Day, and celebrating Y Guy's Birthday during Camp Shirt Day.

Our Youth Campers had an exciting week participating in the Rock 101 Concert, Future Self Day, Super Hero Day, Water Games, Mad Scientist Day, and celebrating Y Guy's Birthday with plenty of smiles and camp spirit.

Our Pre-Teen and Teen Campers wrapped up the session with Rock 101, competed in the Camp Clash, visited Topgolf, and explored the Holtsville Ecology Site, making memories with friends every step of the way. 

Glen Cove YMCA Summer Day Camp

The excitement was nonstop at Glen Cove as campers enjoyed a fun-filled week of Color War activities before hosting the highly anticipated Camp Clash.

Our Kiddie Campers kicked off the week with a Color Run and Opening Ceremony, participated in Tie Dye and Color War Activities, competed during Field Day, wrapped up the festivities with the Apache Relay and Color War Closing Ceremony, and celebrated Y Guy's Birthday.

Our Pre-Teen and Teen Campers had exciting trips to X-Golf Westbury and Q-Zar, while our teen campers proudly represented Glen Cove during the Camp Clash against YMCA Summer Day Camps from across Long Island.

Our Sports Campers stayed active all week with basketball games, a 3-Point Contest, X-Golf Westbury, shooting lessons, a shooting accuracy competition, and soccer games.

Great South Bay YMCA Summer Day Camp

Our Great South Bay campers enjoyed another unforgettable week packed with community service, exciting trips, and special celebrations.

Our Kiddie Campers participated in Future Champions Day, Future Travelers Day, Future You Day, celebrated Y Guy's Birthday, and helped give back during the 2nd Annual Coat & Non-Perishable Food Drive.

Our Pre-Teen Campers celebrated Future Champions Day, enjoyed a performance of Hairspray at the CM Performing Arts Center, and had a blast at Plaster Kraze, while seventh graders also had the option to enjoy Paintball.

Our Teen Campers attended Hairspray at the CM Performing Arts Center, competed in the Camp Clash at Glen Cove, and had fun at Plaster Kraze and Paintball.

Our Sports Campers stayed active with Future Champions Day, enjoyed entertainment from PickNick Entertainment, went Lucky Strike Bowling, and celebrated Y Guy's Birthday.

Huntington YMCA Summer Day Camp

Our Huntington campers wrapped up Session 3 with an exciting week of fun, creativity, and unforgettable experiences.

Our Kiddie Campers had a blast dressing up like they were 100 years old, got creative during Mad Scientist Dress-Up Day, celebrated Y Guy's Birthday, and had an unforgettable visit from the Slime Truck, where campers enjoyed hands-on, ooey-gooey fun.

Our Youth Campers put their skills to the test during an action-packed day with Grit Ninja, challenging themselves through exciting obstacle courses and activities.

Our Pre-Teen and Teen Campers enjoyed an exciting lineup of trips, including Monster Mini Golf, the Battle of the Camps at Glen Cove, and an adventure exploring the Long Island Aquarium.

YMCA East Hampton RECenter Summer Day Camp

Our campers at the YMCA East Hampton RECenter Summer Day Camp had an exciting week filled with music, color, celebrations, and unforgettable adventures as they wrapped up Session 3!

Our Kiddie and Youth Campers had a blast rocking out during Rockstar 101, showing off their creativity with Face Painting, celebrating Y Guy's Birthday, and competing in an exciting week of Color Wars, where campers showed off their team spirit and had tons of fun.

Our Pre-Teen and Teen Campers also enjoyed Rockstar 101 before heading out on exciting trips to Topgolf, Clubhouse, and Dave & Buster's. They joined in the Y Guy Birthday Celebration and had a great time participating in Color Wars, making the most of every moment with their friends.

It's hard to believe that next week is already our final week of summer camp at the YMCA East Hampton RECenter! Where has the summer gone? We can't wait to make one last week full of memories, laughter, and fun before another incredible camp season comes to a close!
