We’ve kicked off Session 2 with a whirlwind of excitement and unforgettable moments here at the Huntington YMCA, Great South Bay YMCA, Patchogue Family YMCA, YMCA at East Hampton RECenter, and YMCA at Glen Cove.
Huntington YMCA Summer Day Camp
Our pre-teens and teens had an absolute blast at United Skates of America Roller Skating! From spins to smiles, it was a day filled with laughter and new skills on wheels. Our campers showed off their skating moves, and it was fantastic to see everyone having such a great time. We can't wait for the next adventure!
A huge thank you to our amazing camp team, enthusiastic campers, and supportive camp families for making this week so special. Your participation in Wacky Wednesday was truly spectacular! The creativity and spirit you all brought to the day made it unforgettable. From mismatched socks to crazy hats, the wackiness was in full swing, and the camp was buzzing with energy and fun.
But the fun doesn't stop there! We look forward to another week full of fun!
Great South Bay YMCA Summer Day Camp
Our pre-teen campers had an incredible day at Farmingdale Gymnastics! They had a blast trying out various gymnastic equipment and learning some basic techniques. The foam pit was definitely a hit among the campers! It's wonderful to see everyone having a great time hanging out with their camp group friends, counselors, and the specialists who run their extra special activities.
Between scrapbooking, STEAM, and Spanish, our campers are always engaged in both educational and exciting activities throughout the camp day. Teen Camp went on a fishing field trip and even had visitors from the CITs at the main site. Many campers caught fish, and the smiles were abundant! Despite starting off a little cloudy, the sun came out, ensuring everyone had a fun-filled day.
Our pre-teens enjoyed a freestyle day, while the youth camp and sports camp followed their fun-filled schedules. It's been a fantastic start to Session 2, with plenty more adventures to come.
Patchogue Family YMCA Summer Day Camp
Our campers also worked together at the LI Science Center to build bridges out of popsicle sticks, showcasing their engineering skills and teamwork. To beat the heat, we stayed inside and played a few rounds of golf at Monster Mini Golf, followed by some fun in the arcade. Congrats to our big winner!
YMCA at East Hampton RECenter Summer Day Camp
Our campers had a week filled with fun and creativity! They enjoyed arts and crafts, played with inflatables, and had a blast with activities in the gym. To beat the heat, they spent some time in the pool. Our pre-teens and teens had an educational and exciting trip to the Aquarium, where they learned about marine life and all the amazing animals in the ocean.
YMCA at Glen Cove Summer Day Camp
What a fun week to kick off Session 2 at the YMCA at Glen Cove! Our teens and pre-teens had a thrilling day at Tiki Action Park, playing arcade games and racing go-karts. On-site, we celebrated Wet N Wild Carnival Day with water slides, snow cones, and cotton candy. Some of our younger groups also cooled off inside the preschool and exercise studio, playing games indoors.
In STEM, our youth campers showcased their creativity by building elaborate mini-cities and neighborhoods with building blocks. Our Kiddie, Youth, and Sports Campers had a special visit from the NY Islanders, including their mascot Sparky, and the Y Guy. Teen campers went to Claynation and designed some awesome crafts. Mickey Mouse and the Y Guy also made a special appearance, adding to the excitement of the day!
Our teens enjoyed a fantastic beach day at Morgan's Park, while in art, campers painted on canvas. At the high ropes course, we saw some campers overcome their fears and complete the entire zip line course. It was an amazing day filled with accomplishments and fun!
