Session 1 Recap!

Our branches had such a successful first two weeks of session 1! Here are some of the great highlights from the last couple of weeks.

5-1

At the Great South Bay YMCA, Kids enjoyed arts and crafts, going on field trips, cooling off in the pool, and learning some fun STEAM projects!

This week's STEAM project taught our campers about density and what would happen if they layered different liquids (ie: corn syrup, water, and body soap) on top of each other! This also showed kids if something had a higher volume of density, it would sink, if it had a lighter volume, it would float on top!

4-1

Some of the fun summer camp activities, campers are enjoying swim time, arts and crafts, making new friends and playtime in the gym. We can't wait to see what the rest of the summer brings for our East Hampton branch!

3-2

Over the course of 2 weeks at our Patchogue/ Roe family YMCA our teen and kiddy campers enjoyed swimming, meeting new friends, going go-carting, and doing some team-building exercises.

The fun arts and craft project one day this week was where campers combined baking soda and vinegar for an interesting reaction!

Our outdoor adventure space with a ropes course and a climbing net is the best way to challenge yourself, build confidence, and learn team-building skills with your friends!

2-2

At our Huntington YMCA Branch, our camper started their day with some significant morning announcements and then broke into some fun activities. Some activities that are not pictured are swimming, theme day, arts and crafts and some sports!

Y Guy came to join in on the fun this morning and even shared a synchronized dance with some of our counselors to usher in a new camp week! And to top it all off the Hurricanes won the Spirit Stick but tomorrow it is anyone's game.

1-2

Our Glen Cove branch also had an amazing session one filled with fun activities, theme days, and new friendships! Some of our camper's favorite camp activities were starting out their second camp day with some friendly competition and a game of tug-of-war. As the kids got on with their camp week they even enjoyed some water fun, learning how to do archery, and many more!

On one of our really hot days, campers really made a splash for Wet n Wild day!
