“THE Y TRANSFORMED ME INTO A STRONGER PERSON WITH A MORE POSITIVE OUTLOOK ON LIFE AND COMMUNITY.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thirty-three rounds of radiation, chemotherapy and surgery left me emotionally and physically drained. Then one day I saw the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA pamphlet in the doctor’s office. I signed up the next day and started to feel my energy and strength coming back from the very start. More than getting stronger though, I realized that the Y was the support group I needed all along.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA gave me a way to share and connect with other cancer survivors. I feel stronger in every way.
