I got involved with the YMCA when they offered a free water aerobics program for the members of Third Eye Sight, a program I run for the blind and visually impaired. You can imagine that getting into a pool is a challenge for people who are visually impaired, but the Y changed all that. Through the water aerobics program, Y staff helps us not only get into and out of the pool safely, but guides us through exercises that build our strength, endurance, and confidence. I really believe that the YMCA exemplifies community giving and empowers people to reach their goals.
