WEEK SIX: August 1-5
Session 3 is now complete! We can’t believe that camp is almost over... Here are some of our camp highlights from week 6!
We are getting ready for our final camp session starting Monday, August 8th! Just a reminder, we still have spots available for Session 4 at our Bay Shore, Glen Cove, Huntington and Patchogue camp locations

HUNTINGTON YMCA SUMMER DAY CAMP
Our Huntington Branch had a fantastic Session 3! Campers enjoyed a tie-dye activity, yoga outside and more!
Campers created lava lamps with water, vegetable oil and food coloring! At arts and crafts this week, the kids made friendship bracelets with beads and string!
Our campers love obstacle courses and dodge ball in the gym. Kiddie campers learned some team-building skills to work together on some of the more challenging obstacles. Teamwork makes the dream work! Great job, campers!
The Pre-Teen and Teen Camps tested their strength and agility on a Nijia Course completing various challenges.
We had more of our local heroes come to visit us. Our Sports Camp played a basketball game against the Sherriffs!
Our Kiddie Camp campers continued building their recycled robots.

GREAT SOUTH BAY YMCA SUMMER DAY CAMP
Our campers at Great South Bay YMCA enjoyed three theme days this week! Oh my, what fun! Their pre-teen and teen campers had a camp trip to visit the YMCA at Glen Cove camp this week.
Are you seeing double day (Twin Day!) The campers partnered up with their camp bestie and dressed like each other, How fun!
Campers also had Future Me Day! It was amazing to see all of the kids dressed up in what they wanted to be when they grow up! We even had some campers dressed super futuristic.
The Mad Scientist visited and had some fun experiments to share with the campers! Some of the campers got to come up and try them out!
The Great South Bay Pre-Teen and Teen Campers visited the YMCA at Glen Cove camp. The kids had a great time on the zipline and seeing a different campus. The highlight of their trip was the outdoor mushroom splash pool! The teens all gathered underneath it!
As session 3 come to an end, we took some time to pose with friends, play some basketball and practice our strategy skills with our new camp friends. We can't believe summer camp is winding down. Today, we said goodbye to some of our camper friends.

PATCHOGUE FAMILY YMCA SUMMER DAY CAMP
Our Patchogue Family YMCA camp had so many fun activities for campers this session!
Our Kiddie Campers had so much fun at the puppet show! They met some new friends and had fantastic stories that were told by all the puppets that came to play with them. Our Pre-teens and Teens visited Jump Street USA where they enjoyed jumping on the trampolines and even played trampoline basketball!
Campers had a blast with the two theme days! It’s your birthday and Halloween Day.
“It’s your Birthday Day!” Everyone at camp celebrated their birthdays, no matter what month it was, with delicious treats and some fun birthday party activities. Our campers also got to celebrate the spooky season early this year with Halloween Day theme day. We saw so many cute and amazing Halloween costumes, we couldn’t pick our favorites.
Campers also had Touch-A-Truck Day! Campers met some of our local town heroes and hear what they do! The kids were able to see inside some of the vehicles and learn about each one!
We also had some fantastic activities with @ThinkWellness_NY. Our older campers worked on a project on how they characterize themselves. This project allows campers to imagine themselves in any way they like! A great way to feel they can become whoever they want in a healthy positive light. To know we are all different yet all the same.
The younger campers worked on " draw your breath and Mandalas". Students were focused on their breathing, slowing it down into a relaxed state while letting their marker create an abstract drawing with each breath. We spoke about fast breathing vs. slow breathing and how we feel different between the two. They learned about Mindfulness and staying in the present moment while coloring the mandala.

YMCA EAST HAMPTON RECENTER SUMMER DAY CAMP
To close our session 3, our YMCA East Hampton RECenter Summer Day Campers had so much fun with theme days, playing outside and gym time! The Campers loved dressing up as their favorite Disney characters! We even saw some of our favorite princesses, even the Mandalorian came to camp! Our campers also played a friendly game of Dodge ball in the gym to beat the heat! Our kiddie campers enjoyed playing with some squishy water toys to keep them cool.
Campers made some cool fossils in arts and crafts! They created some cool fossil art by making prints with their fingers in the quick-dry clay! Some of our East Hampton campers were awarded "Camper of the Week!" We love to see when campers are helping and respecting others. This week, kiddie campers worked on a cool environmentally-friendly project! They made robots out of boxes, bottles and other everyday items.

YMCA AT GLEN COVE
We are still so pumped after last week's Olympics at our YMCA at Glen Cove Summer Day Camp, we have more photos to share with you!
This week, campers had Halloween Day where they dressed up in their favorite costumes. They even paraded around the grounds--we have that video to share with you. Stay tuned.
We loved seeing everyone dressed up as princesses, super heroes and more! Even some of our camp counselors joined in on the theme day! We absolutely enjoy seeing our camp counselors (ROLE MODELS) enjoying their time at the Y and making sure that our campers have the best time! When we see our counselors partake in theme days, this is why camp life is the best life!
Our Pre-Teen and Teen campers visited Top Golf this week and all campers enjoyed Tie-Die Day! We saw so many different color shirts from our campers. This week's Wet and Wild day was a perfect way to beat the heat. From the slip and slide, splash pool, and water balloons, our campers have been staying hydrated and having fun!
Campers enjoyed the inflatable climbing wall and all the camp relay races! Some even participated in potato sack races, hula-hoop contests and other activities.
One of our campers climbed all the way up on our high ropes course and once she got up there, she was scared to come down. Her fellow campers cheered her on, which is all she needed! We are proud of our campers helping other be the best they can be.
