Throughout the Y’s history, we have been called upon in times of crisis, conflict, and strife to provide critical services. The YMCA of Long Island has been called upon by our government and community leaders to provide Emergency Child Care for essential workers including health care professionals and first responders (law enforcement, EMS, fire).
During this Emergency Child Care Program, kids will enjoy arts & crafts, games, activities, and more under the care of our licensed, expert child care staff.
We will take extraordinary precautions: medical and/or trained child care staff will perform curbside wellness checks and monitor children throughout the day to look for symptoms of COVID-19, kids will wash hands upon arrival and throughout the day, practice social distancing, and the school facilities will be deep cleaned using CDC-approved cleaning agents.
Children should bring a non-perishable lunch when lunch is not provided at the site.

Since 1975, YMCA Family Services has provided prevention and treatment services to individuals and families in need of support.
During this crisis, our communities need us more than ever. YMCA Family Services will continue to provide behavioral health services for our existing patients through telehealth counseling sessions for children and adults in need of support, conducted by our licensed, professional staff.
